ClearTriage Reporting

As the healthcare industry continues to evolve, so does the demand for comprehensive insights and analytics. At ClearTriage, we recognize the importance of data-driven decision-making and are thrilled to announce our updated reporting capabilities!

The reports outlined below are now available to all ClearTriage users with Administrator privileges and can be downloaded from ClearTriage and saved to your local computer if needed for historical records or further analysis.

Common Reports

Title Description Used for
Protocols Used The number of times each protocol was used in a call note. Understand what your patients are calling about. Identify opportunities for nurse education or even patient education (e.g., too many calls about fever could prompt education that low grade fevers are generally beneficial and not a cause for concern).
Dispositions Used The number of times each disposition was the final disposition in a call note. If the disposition was overridden by the nurse, only the override disposition is counted. If multiple protocols were used on the call, only the highest-acuity disposition (including any override dispositions) is counted. Understand where your nurses are sending your patients. Monitor your ED referral rate or other high-cost dispositions. For value-based care / shared risk models, calls resulting in home care dispositions can help financially justify providing triage.
Protocols Used with Dispositions A breakdown of dispositions used within each protocol. Use for QI projects on high call volume protocols. Identify symptoms that need additional nurse education or adjustments in policy, then monitor the impact of those changes.
Dispositions Used with Protocols A breakdown of which protocols resulted in each disposition. Use for QI projects on high-cost dispositions such as Go to ED. Identify opportunities for nurse education or adjustments in policy, then monitor the impact of those changes.
Calls by User The number of times each of your nurses viewed a protocol and copied a call note. Understand how much each nurse is using ClearTriage. Identify coaching opportunities by comparing individual nurse usage to your organization’s average. Use it to establish benchmarks.
Protocols by User A breakdown of which nurses used each protocol. Compare usage of protocols by nurse and identify any nurses who are overusing certain protocols, perhaps because they are not aware of their options.
Dispositions by User A breakdown of which nurses used each disposition. Compare usage of dispositions by nurse and identify any nurses who are overusing certain dispositions, perhaps over-referring to the ED.
Overrides by User The number of times each of your nurses overrode a disposition (changed the disposition) and their documented reason for the override. It includes the direction of the override, either “up” to a higher disposition or “down” to a lower disposition. Understand how your nurses are using the override functionality. Plus confirm that they are following your organization’s policy regarding downgrading a disposition.

Administrative Reports

Title Description Used for
Subscriptions Used The maximum number of people who used ClearTriage concurrently (at the same time) each day as well as whether any users were prevented from accessing ClearTriage because you did not have enough subscriptions (“Blocked Users”). This information helps you decide on the appropriate number of ClearTriage subscriptions for your organization. Click here to learn more.
Customized Protocols A list of the protocols that your organization has customized, along with a record of who made the customizations and when. Use to track which protocols your organization has customized and as a historical record of changes made. Periodically review to determine if the customizations are still needed.
Customized Sticky Notes A list of the sticky notes that your staff have added to your protocols. Periodically review to determine if the sticky notes are still needed.
Protocol Export for Backup Use An Excel file containing all of your protocols, the dispositions for each protocol, and the triage questions in each disposition. This includes your customizations to the dispositions and triage questions, and any custom protocols. (Note: This report is not available for free trial users.) Sort and filter in Excel to see which protocols use specific dispositions or triage questions. You can also use this file as an emergency backup if your nurses can’t access ClearTriage, but please realize the protocols are the intellectual property of the authors and need to be treated as confidential material by everyone who has access.

Other Reports

Title Description Used for
Calls Per Day and Hour The number of calls taken each day of the week with a breakdown by hour and a further breakdown by user. The specific hour is based on when the “Copy” button was pressed in ClearTriage, not when the call was started. Understand the busiest and least busy times for your triage nurses. And for hours when you know your nurses are taking non-stop triage calls, this can be used to calculate average time per triage call.
Handouts Sent The number of times each handout was sent by email, text, or link. Make sure your nurses are taking advantage of this valuable patient education capability.
Question Selections The number of times each triage question was selected within each protocol. Note: question selection data is only available starting on January 1, 2022. Use for QI projects on high call volume protocols. Identify symptoms that need additional nurse education, adjustments in policy, or customizations to the protocol. Then monitor the impact of those changes.
Video Visit Selections The number of times per protocol that your nurses were prompted to offer a video visit, the number times they actually offered a video visit, and the number of times the video visit was accepted. Note: visit selection data is only available starting on May 5, 2018. Review for which protocols your nurses are offering video visits with your providers, and how often your patients are taking advantage of these video visits. Use to improve your telemedicine offerings.
